PRIVACY POLICY

THE ALIVE MAN

This Privacy Policy explains how Gettin Lost Is Being Found, LLC, doing business as Getting Lost Is Being Found (“GLIBF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with The Alive Man course, our websites, our checkout pages, and related communications. 1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact and account details: your name, email address, and login credentials.
  • Purchase information: the product purchased, price paid, payment status, transaction identifiers, and the billing country or other details requested at checkout. Your full card number is entered into and handled by our payment processor; we do not receive or store it.
  • Course activity: login activity, lesson progress and completion, and any comments you post in the course.
  • Communications: emails and support requests you send us, and whether you open or click our emails.
  • Technical and usage information: device type, browser, operating system, approximate location derived from IP address, referring website, and pages visited.

2. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you purchase, create an account, use the course, or contact us; automatically when you use our websites and course; and from the service providers that process payments, host the course, and deliver email on our behalf.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • process your purchase and provide, secure, and support your course access;
  • send transactional and service emails, such as purchase confirmations, access instructions, and course updates;
  • respond to your questions and support requests;
  • understand how our websites and course are used so we can improve them;
  • send marketing emails about our programs where permitted by law (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • prevent fraud and misuse, keep business and tax records, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Payments

Payments are processed through Kajabi Payments, which is powered by Stripe. Your card details are submitted directly to the payment processor and are handled under their security standards and privacy policies. We receive confirmation of your payment and limited transaction details, such as the amount, date, and the last four digits of your card, but never your full card number.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to perform their services:

  • Kajabi: hosts our course, checkout, member accounts, and email delivery.
  • Kajabi Payments / Stripe: processes payments and helps prevent fraud.
  • Plausible Analytics: provides privacy-friendly website statistics.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights, property, or safety of GLIBF, our customers, or others, or in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of our business. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our course and checkout pages, hosted by Kajabi, use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you logged in, remember your session, complete checkout securely, and prevent fraud. Our payment processor may also use cookies and device information to detect and prevent fraud.

We use Plausible Analytics to understand overall website traffic. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track you across other websites; it reports aggregated statistics only.

We do not use advertising pixels, retargeting, or third-party advertising cookies. Because we do not track visitors across other websites for advertising, we do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, which we already do not do.

7. Marketing choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email or by contacting brandon@gettinlostisbeingfound.com. Even if you unsubscribe, we will still send emails needed for your purchase, account, security, or support.

8. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as you have access to a purchased course and for as long afterwards as reasonably necessary to keep business, tax, and accounting records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, and we rely on established providers for hosting and payments. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your login details private.

10. Your privacy rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to provide a copy of it, by emailing brandon@gettinlostisbeingfound.com. Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, the UK, or the European Union, you may have additional rights, such as the right to restrict or object to certain uses, to withdraw consent, or to appeal our decision on your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may keep certain information where the law requires or allows us to, for example purchase records needed for tax purposes. If you are in the UK or EU, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Sensitive information

The Alive Man covers intimate and personal topics. We do not ask you to share health information, sexual history, or details about other people, and we encourage you not to include them in support messages or course comments. If you choose to share sensitive information with us, we use it only to respond to you and handle it as described in this policy. The Alive Man Field Guide is for your personal use; we do not collect your Field Guide entries.

12. Age requirement

The Alive Man is intended only for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. International users

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Plausible Analytics processes website statistics in the European Union. Where required, we and our providers rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

14. Links to other websites

Our pages may link to other websites and services, such as Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date and, where required, notify you of material changes.
